If I didn't know better I would think I'm listening to jazz standards that were created back in the 1960's, instead I'm listening to Nick Kepics' album Piece Offering, which was made in 2002. This album is reminiscent of everything that made you fall in love with jazz in the first place. Nick's material and the so very talented musicians he has performing with him created a lush, warm and inviting lounge for you to sit back, relax and enjoy your favorite cocktail. This is modern jazz at its finest. Any jazz buff will appreciate this album, especially if you're a fan of Miles or any of the other legendary jazz musicians from the 60's and 70's. Nick's guitar work can be compared with the very best, Benson, Metheny, and the like. Throw in one of the best trumpet players I've heard in a long time and some smoking drums and bass and you've got a winning CD sure to please the most snobbish jazz aficionado. You can find Nick Kepics' CD on CDbaby.com or visit his website at www.nickkepics.com. - Unsigned Magazine - Issue 11 - June/2005

Most of you probably think that all TAXI members are in their early 20s and have part-time jobs at Starbucks. Nick is 56, works at NASA, and plays Jazz. Unlike most members, he is happy just keeping music in his life, playing out occasionally, releasing a CD every now and then, and not worrying about what industry pros have to say about his material. Despite the fact that he has managed to avoid the industry big wigs, Nick still turned to TAXI for exposure. His story is a really cool one. Check it out
"Congratulations on a job well done! The compositions are thoughtful and each tells a very different musical story with lyrical beauty and logical continuity. Outstanding musicianship and infectious rhythms." - Jae Sinnett, Jazz Producer, Host WHRV-FM 89.5
"It's time for some new jazz standards. These melodies will stay with you long after you power off the stereo. Miles Davis fans will find much to like here." - Karen Queen/Hampton Roads Monthly Magazine, December 2002
"I recommend Piece Offering to anyone who loves jazz, no matter what kind - this is not your ordinary "background" music. It's a perfect companion for an evening at home, whether you want to chill out or spice things up. Enjoy!" - Paul Wright, JazzReview.com. For the full review, click here.
"An album that harkens back in spirit to the great jazz albums of the '60s and '70s, Piece Offering by guitarist Nick Kepics will impress long time jazz buffs and newcomers alike." - Robert Silverstein, 20th Century Guitar Magazine
"Piece Offering is a CD of instrumental trumpet-driven bluesy Latin jazz that is very easy on the head and honestly, really kicks ass, very visual in a "movie score" sort of way. Recommendation - Buy The CD!" - Gail Worley, StarPolish.com. For the full review, click here.
"The album works very well and is reminiscent of some of Miles Davis and Gil Evans' tone poems on Sketches of Spain. Like a good jazz album from the 1950s, it makes for nice background music, but rewards active listening." - Ed Driscoll, BlogCritics.org. For the full review, click here.
"Nick's writing has that instrinsic quality that I call the repeat factor. Good music, whether pop, jazz or classical can be played over and over (repeated) without boring the listener... and so it is with this CD. I can listen to it often without wearing it out." - G. Stringfield, Jazz Guitarist
"I hope this message finds you and your bandmates well. Thank you for sending me a copy of your debut album, Piece Offering. I was impressed with the quality of the music and have included you in the New Talent pages of The Smooth Jazz Site. In fact, I was impressed enough to make you the featured artist on that page for the rest of this month. I hope everything continues to go well with all of you and my hopes for a bright future are with you. Have a wonderful day and continue making beautiful music." - Derick Winterberg, The Smooth Jazz Site, TheSmoothJazzSite.com
